While this is essentially a recipe for a night-time shot — the home remedy shelf version of that overly-green night-time sneezingn sniffling caughing whater so you can rest stuff that a lot of people down so they can get some rest when they’ve got a cold —  what it really is ???  a cup of very hone-heavy herbal tea.  Any good herbalist or herb-witch can send you down the same path….

1  c boiling water
2 T chamomile flowers (or 3 chamomile teabags will do)
6  whole dried linden leaves (or 2 linden teabags)
1 t dried mint leaves (or fresh mint leaves if you have them, or mint teabag)
1/2 t fresh rosemary
1 T dried hops flowers
1/2 c local honey
1 c high-proof vodka

  1. Pour boiling water over all herbs and stir gently for 1 mintue.
  2. Allow to steep (covered) for 20 minutes.
  3. Stir gently for another minute, then strain into a pitcher and add honey.  Stir until honey is completely blended into the herbal tea then add vodka.
  4. Re-use a good sterilized bottle to store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

A 1 1/2- 2 oz shot will help get a restful nights sleep if you’re coming down with a cold (or if you’ve already got one)

Be careful — DO NOT combine this (or any alcoholic beverage) with over-the-counter cold medications.
